In 1974, the Glens Falls Board of REALTORS® was incorporated and then in the early 1980s, the Tri-County Multiple Listing Service was formed. It started in a basement of a commercial building located on East Washington Street, Glens Falls and later relocated to 318B Ridge Street, Glens Falls.
In the early 80s when the Multiple Listing Service was formed it consisted of 42 REALTORS® members and 4 Affiliate members.
In 1988, the Glens Falls Board of REALTORS®, Inc. and the Tri-County Multiple Listing Service merged to form the Greater Glens Falls and Warren County Board of REALTORS®.
In 1990, they purchased a commercial building located on 269 Bay Road (now 296) and changed the name to the Warren County Association of REALTORS®, Inc.
In 2006, the Association and its Multiple Listing Service separated and became two separate entities then known as the Warren County Association of REALTORS®, Inc. and the Warren County Multiple Listing Service, Inc.
In 2016, we expanded our jurisdiction to include the northern half of Washington county with the approval of the National Association of REALTORS, Inc.
In 2019, we had a busy year, launching a cooperative venture with the Greater Capital Association of REALTORS to create a new corporation for a regional MLS. Global MLS was launched in April 2019. Both Associations are shareholders and continue to operate separate local associations. Additionally, in late 2019 the National Association of REALTORS granted SAR another extension of its jurisdiction geography to now include the Saratoga County towns of Moreau, Corinth and Hadley and the Village of South Glens Falls and Village of Corinth. SAR has more than doubled its jurisdiction geography since 2015.
Today the Southern Adirondack REALTORS, Inc. consists of approximately 525 REALTOR Members and 60 Affiliate members. The regional Global MLS currently serves over 3800 subscribers and covers listings from the greater Capital District into the Southern Adirondacks and North Country.
The Southern Adirondack REALTORS is a member-driven, nonprofit association that relies on dedicated members to provide volunteer time and talent in various leadership roles and to service on our dynamic committees to promote REALTORS, assist with planning of association events an community support activities.

GET INVOLVED! SAR currently has 9 standing Committees that meet throughout the year to guide the Association's efforts on behalf of the membership.

Responsible for promoting membership to the professional community. They host periodic networking events and informational roundtables.
Bylaws & Governance
Chair: Willie Bea McDonald, McDonald Real Estate Professionals
Professionals. Responsible for reviewing, updating and coordinating all Association governing documents, including but not limited to its Bylaws.
Chair: Kim Bullard, Select Sotheby's International Realty
Responsible for developing programs for SAR participation in community, charitable, civic and education programs that enhance the image of the Association and the image of REALTORS® within our community. These programs include but are not limited to: Projects for area homeless shelters, Food Drives for Area Food Banks, Adopt-a- Family Programs, Hole in the Woods Camp Clean Up Day, and Habitat for Humanity Build projects. Under this committee is also the sub-committee of Public Relations

This committee has a role in researching and providing members with in class and on-line continuing education to assist them in staying up with industry technology and standards, plus help them meet continuing education license requirements and Realtor CE requirements.
Chair: Kathie Spangler, Equitas Realty Reviews requests for arbitration and ethics complaints to determine if a hearing is appropriate.
Member ServicesTo provide and promote services to benefit members, welcome new members and member orientation, and to solicit input from membership to facilitate the association's Strategic Planning activities to better serve it’s members and the public. This committee has oversight of association website services and scholarship sub committee.

Develops and implements fundraising efforts to support scholarship programs offered by the SAR. This committee designs and distributes scholarship applications and oversees the distribution of awards on an annual basis.

Provides trained members to serve on ethics, arbitration or MLS violation hearing panels. Oversees Mediation & Ombudsman Services.
Chair: Michael Borgos, Esq., Borgos & DelSignore, PC Monitors local, county and regional issues that affect the real estate industry to help educate the membership and communicates the needs and importance of government issues to members including but not limited to "Calls to Action" by NYSAR and NAR. This committee also seeks out community and civic projects that we may be able to provide grant funds, volunteer or technical assistance with. Projects falling under this program would involve those that improve residential or commercial neighborhoods, improve housing affordability and improve sustainability of housing markets.
Under this committee is also the working sub-cmt of our RPAC- REALTORS Political Action Committee:

To educate the members on the benefits of a strong REALTORS Political Action Fund (RPAC), and to create fundraising events and techniques to support RPAC.
Young Realtors Network (YRN)
Chair: Heather Ballek, Howard Hanna-Capital & Vice Chair, Courtney Seeley, Select Sotheby's International Realty
Develops and implements networking events, professional development and community outreach programs, etc. while providing camaraderie among "Young at Heart, Young in Business or Young in Age" member REALTORS®. While most members of the YRN/YPN are under 40, there is no age restriction whatsoever. Any REALTOR® member who thinks he or she would benefit from participation is welcomed.
